Ken Again

6th March 2017

It was certainly a case of déjà vu for Ken Boon at Ulverston Masonic Hall as for the second time in under three weeks he was replying to the toast to his health at an installation meeting.

You may recall that there was a team visit to Furness Royal Ark Mariner Lodge No 375 installation to witness Ken being installed in the chair.

His latest incarnation is as the WM of Lonsdale Lodge of Installed Masters No 9422.

There were a large number of Mark Masons involved in the proceedings including the installing master Terry Pearson who is Master Overseer at Furness Mark Lodge No 36.

As tradition demands Ken was presented for the ceremony by the group chairman Peter Schofield who is a member of Jubilee Mark Lodge No 375 and also Furness Mark Lodge. Convention further demanded that Peter delivered the address to the newly installed master.

The working tools of an installed master were presented and explained by Stuart Brackstone who is the special representative for the northern part of the province whilst Furness Mark Lodge treasurer John Myers presented those of the first degree.

Ken appointed Furness Mark Lodge member Dave Sear as his junior warden.

I am sure I will have missed some others out, but nonetheless it was still pleasing to see so many Mark Masons take part in a ceremony for someone who is one of our respected and well known Mark friends.
As was the case at the R.A.M. installation the dining room was fully booked and a good time was had by all.

There will be a fuller report of proceedings on the craft website.
